Grimoire – L’aorasie des spectres rêveurs
And yet one more Canadian Black Metal band reviewed here, yes, I am aware that I review many Canadian bands, especially from Québec, but it’s not my fault they produce a large amount of interesting extreme metal bands there! I’m quoting the band’s biography for you to know a bit more about it. Formed in 2010, GRIMOIRE reveals the expression of a wandering, lonesome soul searching for the path to spiritual elevation. Four years ago, Grimoire release its début album named “À la lumière des cendres” and, in 2015, the band returns with the EP “L’aorasie des spectres rêveurs”.
My cherished readers, this is simply stunning. The music is beautiful, majestic, epic, elevated; in one word: fantastic. It’s an atmospheric dream, a journey that is very pleasant to follow. Creative and original, you feel convinced that this one man band has created a piece of art with heart and soul, a jewel that needs and deserves to be listened by many, “L’aorasie des spectres rêveurs” feels spectacular.
The music itself is, as I’ve mentioned before, very beautiful. Grimoire plays a majestic Melodic Black Metal, with a grandeur sentiment, melancholic tunes and an extremely well executed keyboard, that turns the music into even more grandiose harmonies, but never getting into a cheesy stage. Fiel truly knows what he is doing. While I listen to the ending of “L’aorasie des spectres rêveurs”, I feel like as if a heavy burden has been taken off my head. What can I conclude from this? At least, in my experience, this is an album filled with hope. Of course the experiences may and will differ from individual to individual, but to me, this was relieving.
When it comes to the album’s production, another positive aspect can be observed in this release, all listenable quite clear. I invite you all to, please, give Grimoire a chance, this is a band that, in my modest view, deserves more attention, as the music played by Fiel is breathtaking. And, as I always ask, if you enjoy the music, find a way to support this band, if you can’t make a purchase now, there are many other ways to help a band and its label to be alive.
