And yet and going to share some thoughts on a new work by the German masters Japanische Kampfhörspiele. I admit that I am a huge admirer of their music, projects, etc. and, fortunately, this band hasn’t disappointed me in any way. Whenever I think of music that helps me to go through a hard period in my life, as we all have to go through these, JAKA is among the bands that gives me a boost of energy. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, there’s something different and special about the band that makes them so unique and a cult act.

Now in 2015, after the amazing “Welt ohne Werbung”, always in my uttermost , in my modest and sincere view, Japanische Kampfhörspiele releases a cover album in which they play songs from German artists with the past years, as Christof Kather stated, featuring many guest vocalists, such as Tobias Scheiße, Anti und Paula, Bommel and Yellow B. Safran. If you’re not familiar with the German scene, I admit that, outside metal music, I shamefully don’t know many; these covers are from Punk and Hardcore bands.

I can already add that, like all other JAKA releases, this one not only pleased me, but also made me interested in getting to know more about the bands they covered. But what can I say about the music other than they’re exceptionally exciting, honest and crude Punk/ Hardcore, very well executed, but still keeping that anarchic feeling. The result is indeed very pleasing and thrilling. I can only imagine how powerful would be a live performance of this release. It’s simply savage and stunning. Truthfully, “Deutschland Von Vorne 2” is outstanding and, in a way, also a great introduction to some of the covered bands for new listeners. The only “negative” aspect is that the album is a bit short and it leaves you wanting for more and more. In my case, I guess this is the forth time in a row that I’m listening to it.

When it comes to the production, I can say that we have a fine work here as well. All is clearly audible, but still keeps that bit of rawness present in the works of Punk and Hardcore bands. I invite you, my dear friends, to check out this release, whenever possible, and supporting as well as promoting the great Japanische Kampfhörspiele.
