Blut aus Nord/ P.H.O.B.O.S. – Triunity
I’ll start this interview by talking about Blut aus Nord. It has been two years since the band had released an album, “777 – Cosmosophy”, and I was looking forward to listening to new material from this band, as I am a huge fan, I should admit. I think that “Ultima Thulée” and “777 – Sect(s) are real masterpieces”, always in my humble opinion, of course and, so far, the band never let me down.
And now, for P.H.O.B.O.S, I had already heard an album in 2005 named “Tectonics”, but, at the time, I wasn’t so interested particularly on its genre, Industrial Doom Metal, but I remember I had, in a way, enjoyed it. Unfortunately I didn’t check more material from this band until the release of this split, something that I must and will correct very soon.
As for the release, I dare to say that, even though the styles are completely different, Triunity is brilliant. Blut aus Nord continues with its epic, majestic black metal, with vocals that comes from the deep void, but still exquisite and alluring. The guitars are, much like the vocals, are fantastic. The music feels very organic and excellent. The whole atmosphere feels out of this world, haunting and unique. And one more release from this French institution that doesn’t disappoint me at all. It actually gives me hope for another full-length album filled with creative and beautiful extreme music.
Concerning P.H.O.B.O.S.’ “side”, initially I must add how outstanding Glowing Phosphoros sounds! What a piece! But I also should point that P.H.O.B.O.S.’ music is not for everyone, and I believe this is intended by the artist. The music, at least here, sounds very interesting, very uncommon and eerie. The downtempo industrial doom metal created by P.H.O.B.O.S. makes you feel like you’re travelling into the void, creating an intriguing condition which you feel numbness and yet pleasure while immersing into the music. The whole experience with P.H.O.B.O.S. is highly exotic and delightful.
My conclusion: this is indeed an incredible and surprising split. Surprising because the music created by both bands are different, but they “complete” each other. Allow yourself to feel something different when listening to this release. I am not able to show much I loved Triunity. As usual, in the way that you can, that you are able to, please, support the band.
Have a nice day… if you can! I sure hope you all do.
